Better late than never...Right?

So 2013 is my 3rd year as president of the Men's Group at Calera First, time sure does fly when your having fun!

When I started in 2011 one of my goals was to give the Men's Group some kind of presence on the interweb, 2 years later I am finally working on it :)

This site is going to serve a couple of purposes for our group...

1) It will be a location where folks can hit anytime and see what activities we have coming up, I send emails alot but I know alot of times folks forget what was in the email or their wife gets it and forgets to tell them about it or any number of reasons. So this way you can always see what we have going on and find an activity/event to plug into.

2) It will also be a location to help us keep up with all the things we have accomplished. I try hard to keep good notes so I can remember all the things we do within a year, but it is hard to do. So by having this page, I will have a single location for keeping track.

3) It will be a place for men that maybe out there looking for a place to serve, looking for a church home, looking to find their fit in a group to see what we are all about. As I have shared before, the reason my family became members of Calera First was because of this group. Yeah we do a good job with the children's ministry so that grabbed my wife's attention. But what sealed the deal was the Sunday after our first visit I came to a Men's meeting, it was advertised as a free steak dinner. When I showed up there were 50-60 men there and I was welcomed in and felt at home, I had found my fit.

I am so proud to be a part of this group, I have always been amazed at how willing the men of Calera first are to serve and be the hands and feet of Christ. I am looking forward to another great year in 2013. We have already had a great start to the year.
